So where are we, anyway?
Frederick Memorial Healthcare System (or simply FMH to most Fredericktonians) is a network of healthcare facilities spanning Frederick County, Maryland. We’ve got a little bit of everything here, from a 273-bed hospital to laboratory, imaging and rehabilitation sites to a complete Wellness Center… but you can find all of that information on our website already.
Our goal here is to connect, to reach out and interact with members of our community. When you have questions about health, we want you to know you can come here, let us know and we’ll find the answers.
Expecting a baby? Ask us whatever questions come to mind, from local resources to help with breastfeeding to prenatal education, yoga classes, you name it!
Maybe you’re a soon-to-graduate nurse interested in what it’s like to work at FMH. Ask us about anything from typical schedules to the food in the cafeteria (it’s actually pretty good!).
On a personal note, I (the person writing these blog entries) don’t have a medical background. I think that might actually be a good thing. I spend five days a week here at FMH, so I have access to a wealth of knowledge in the form of our excellent physicians, nurses and support staff. I hope to bring you useful and insightful information regarding your health and our healthcare system without overloading you with medical-speak or marketing jargon. That’s the goal anyway. I’m counting on you to keep me honest.
So… ask away! This blog is for you – how can we help?
