4-A North Medical/Surgical Unit
Construction crews are putting the finishing touches on the casework installation. Some finishing electrical work is taking place in the ceiling grids. The final coat of paint is being painted on the walls and the new flooring is being installed. If construction continues to stay on schedule, the new patient rooms will be turned over to the hospital by the end of March and the unit will be ready to accept new patients in mid-April.
Up on the Roof
Work continues on the installation of the metal siding that’s going up around the exterior of the enclosed area on the roof. Crews are finishing drywall on the inside of the structure. The installation of the new air handler is complete. The unit was tested last week and found to be operational. The conduits to the units will be installed in the coming weeks.
Last week a large cement pump was used to pump four loads of cement to the roof to finish the gurney ramp from the helicopter landing pad to the elevator shaft. Some stairs around the helipad were poured at the same time.
Work continues on the steel supports for the helipad.
