Park Avenue Entrance Construction
Work to create a new, temporary entrance to the parking deck from Park Avenue continues. As you can see in the photo, crews are pouring concrete for new curbs along the access road. They are also establishing the sub-grade for the eventual installation of asphalt and pavers. We hope to open the Park Avenue entrance to a limited number of users next month.
Emma Smith Drive
Last week’s beautiful fall weather allowed construction workers to make great progress on (and under) Emma Smith Drive.
We’re still digging along Emma Smith Drive between the existing parking deck and Seventh Street. As sections of the 10-foot-deep trench are ready, construction workers are installing huge sections of metal conduit for the storm water management system.
Gas Line Work Complete
Steel plates cover the area where Frederick Gas accessed the Park Avenue line to add a line to the hospital.
Frederick Gas has completed the work to extend a gas line from Park Avenue to the hospital along the east side of the parking garage. Work crews did their best to keep traffic disruption to a minimum during the project.
Inside – New 4th Floor Patient Rooms
The rooms on 4A South are starting to look like the renovated rooms on 4A North and 2C.
We’re inching closer to opening ten newly-renovated, private patient rooms on the south side of our 4A unit. Construction workers are adding a “cloud” light fixture above the nurses’ station, installing countertops, finishing the final coat of paint and the last sections of flooring. All of the bathroom fixtures and doors are installed.
