Recently, Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. (formerly SAIC-Frederick) presented Frederick Memorial Hospital (FMH) with a $100,000 pledge establishing them as one of the newest members the FMH Corporate Honor Roll.
Leidos Biomed operates the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. The company’s contribution will help FMH expand its award-winning oncology program into a fully integrated, comprehensive cancer institute.
“We all know someone who has been affected by cancer — whether it’s a loved one, a friend, or a colleague,” said Leidos Biomed President Dave Heimbrook, Ph.D. “Many new treatment approaches are in the pipeline, and at Leidos Biomed we are helping to move some of these along. What the patient sees, however, are the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who are providing their care. That’s why it’s so important to have a leading-edge cancer center in our community. We are proud to support Frederick Memorial Hospital in this ambitious undertaking.”
“We are delighted to have Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. as our newest Corporate Honor Roll member. Leidos Biomed’s contribution demonstrates the fact that they are great corporate citizens, and we thank them for their commitment to FMH and our community,” said Tom Kleinhanzl, President and CEO of Frederick Regional Health System.
The FMH Business & Industry Committee founded the FMH Corporate Honor Roll to provide financial support for FMH’s strategic capital goals. The Corporate Honor Roll roster includes a diverse group of more than 55 local businesses, organizations and foundations dedicated to helping FMH fulfill its commitment to serving the health care needs of our community.
